Bio

I started my musical life as a drummer in a schoolband at the age of 7 and bought my first drumkit when I was 12. From 2003 to 2006 I went to Foss High Scool, doing a music program. Around that time I started playing with a lot of differnet bands. From the age of 15 to 21 I played in a jazz-rock band called «Sound Circus». We played several times at Oslo Jazz Festival and played 30-something concerts, primarily in Oslo. I also played with the rockband «Wild Water» for two years and performed with heavyrock veterans «Lucifer Was».

In 2006 I went to sweden to have a drumlesson with (at that time) «The Flower Kings»-drummer Marcus Lilliequist. He encouraged me to aply for music school in California called the «LA Music Academy». So I did, and in the fall of 2008 i went there. This gave me the opportunity to spend all my time and focus on drumming and practice while studying under great teachers and with inspiring classmates.

I returned to Oslo in 2009 to have a bachelor in musicolegy at the university in Oslo. I focused primarily on my «other» main musical interesst; music production. But i also took lessons with drummer Terje Engen and took several music arranging classes with arranger/trombone player Even Kruse Skaterud.

In early 2011 i won a contest to play a song with one of my favorite bands, «Marillion» at the «2011 Marillion Convention» in Holland. I «swaped» the drumseat with the band’s drummer Ian Mosley on the song «Deserve» in front of an audience of 3000 people.

These days I play with the popband, «You And Me Alfred». We have so far released an EP and a single. I also have my own project, «Pymlico», where I write and record instrumental music.
